Stress and the Body

Working long hours on your feet or under pressure keeps the body in alert mode. Over time, that can raise blood pressure, affect sugar levels, and cause pain in the neck, back, or head. It is not that you "cannot handle it" — it is the body carrying a lot of weight every day. 💪🏽

🛠️ Skill: Physiological Sigh (Double Inhale)

🔎 What happens:

Stress activates the alert nervous system (raises blood pressure, muscle tension, sugar). The body stays in "heavy work mode" even when it does not need to.

⏱️ How to do it (30–60 seconds):
  • Inhale through the nose.
  • Without exhaling, take another small inhale.
  • Exhale slowly through the mouth.
    Repeat 3–5 times.
🎯 Why it works:

This breath quickly reduces the activation of the nervous system and can lower physical tension almost immediately. It is discreet and can be done at work.
