How does a parent reach Kids and Teens care?
Through the MiSalud app, or by texting "kids" to (415) 996-1158. A bilingual health coach connects the same day by text, phone, or video. Zero copay.
Can MiSalud prescribe medication for my child?
No. MiSalud does not prescribe medication to minors. The coach gives guidance on what to do and what to watch for, and when in-person care is needed, a specific referral: the nearest provider, the right type of care, and what to say when you call.
What is the difference between Healthy Kids and Healthy Bites?
Healthy Kids is health coaching for parents when a child is sick or due for a checkup or vaccine. Healthy Bites is five nutrition coaching sessions for the whole family. Both are part of Kids and Teens.
What ages does Kids and Teens cover?
Healthy Kids covers children from infancy through age 17. Healthy Bites covers families with children ages 3 to 18. All coaching is in Spanish or English, the parent's choice.
Is Kids and Teens included in the MiSalud benefit?
Yes. Each employee's coverage includes up to three family members, at no cost to them.
Is Healthy Bites just a generic diet program?
No. It is built around how the family already eats, with one practical take-home step each session. The goal is habits that last, not a restrictive plan.
