MiSalud Health’s Wendy Johansson named to Inc.’s 2026 Female Founders 500 List

[San Francisco], MARCH 10, 2026

MiSalud Health is proud to announce that Wendy Johansson has been named to Inc.’s 2026 Female Founders 500, an annual list honoring the most dynamic women business leaders in the United States. The honor recognizes founders whose bold ideas, resilience, and execution are shaping the future of their industries.

In the last year, Johansson's leadership of new product developments, client growth and team expansion across Mexico and the United States, led to 20x revenue growth for MiSalud Health. Her efforts have brought same-day Spanish-language telehealth and on-site health screenings and employee resources to over 100,000 individuals, resulting in 90% participation for an essential-worker population that has historically been labeled “hard to reach.”

“Founders have the privilege of deciding which problems we put our energy toward solving. At MiSalud Health, we’re building healthcare that actually works for anyone, starting with language, trust, and access,” Johansson said. “Seeing that model reach over 100,000 people is incredibly meaningful and proves that equitable care isn’t just possible—it’s scalable. I’m incredibly proud of the MiSalud team and honored to be recognized alongside so many women building meaningful companies.”

A UX designer by trade, Johansson has a history of building equitable teams and products, and building teams across borders is an established forte. The founder of two startups and a leader in several others, she exited her first company, Wizeline, for $550 million. She previously built the UX apprenticeship program at Amazon, led design teams across 12 global hubs for Publicis Sapient, and led product/design at early-stage startups such as AppNexus, Sam Altman’s Loopt, and Ooyala.

“Wendy’s clarity of vision sets our course. So many inventions are ephemeral. Hers are not. They become part of the fabric of people’s everyday lives because they’re designed so well,” said MiSalud Health CEO Bismarck Lepe, Johansson’s co-founder on both MiSalud and Wizeline. “I see our team leaning into her, believing in and working toward that long-term, world-changing vision. That’s true leadership.”

Inc. also recognized Johansson’s role in securing new investor funding, including from the American Heart Association’s Social Impact Funds; leading the development of new AI tools like a nutrition tool that considers culture and budget preferences, securing 100% engineering team adoption of AI, and her ongoing efforts to educate, mentor and lead both at home and internationally, which recently included Harvard Business School’s Annual Technology Conference and Female Founders in Healthtech.

Each year, Inc. editors evaluate applications through a rigorous, multi-round selection process. Founders are assessed on both quantitative performance metrics, including revenue growth, funding, sales, and audience size, as well as qualitative factors such as innovation, social impact, and brand momentum. The final list represents entrepreneurs who have demonstrated exceptional leadership and measurable progress over the past year. Previous honorees have included such game-changing leaders as Billie Jean King, Sallie Krawcheck, Serena Williams, and Emma Grede — all of whom have transformed their industries and broken barriers along the way. The 2026 Female Founders honorees collectively generated approximately $12.3 billion in 2025 revenue and $12.2 billion in funding to date, underscoring the economic impact of women-led businesses across sectors.

"Each year, we are increasingly amazed by the extraordinary leaders on our Inc. Female Founders 500 list,” says Bonny Ghosh, editorial director at Inc. “The honorees on this year’s list include innovators in AI, beauty and wellness trendsetters winning devoted fans, and nonprofit leaders making a real impact in their communities. Together, they’re showing all of us what trailblazing female leadership looks like.”

Several honorees will be featured in Inc. magazine’s Spring print issue, on newsstands March 17, 2026. To see the complete list of honorees, please visit: https://www.inc.com/female-founders/2026.
