About the Role

MiSalud Health is seeking a Mental Health Coach to join our innovative, multidisciplinary behavioral health team. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a collaborative environment focused on improving patient well-being through accessible and comprehensive care. You will work alongside medical doctors, community health workers, and other allied health professionals to provide vital mental health support within a virtual care model.

Qualifications:

  • Valid professional license as a Psychologist or Counselor in Latin America. (BA level in Psychology minimum requirement)
  • Experience in general mental health consultation, with a strong understanding of the intricate relationship between physical and mental health.
  • Excellent patient service and follow-up skills, with a commitment to providing comprehensive mental health guidance and support.
  • Ability to offer fully bilingual consultations in English and Spanish in a virtual format. Clinical and conversational proficiency in both languages is required.
  • Experience utilizing digital health platforms for patient care.
  • Proactive and communicative team approach. Bring a problem-solving attitude to a remote work environment to make improvements and new ways of work to improve the health of the populations we serve.
  • Experience in one or more evidence based clinical approaches (e.g Motivational Interviewing, Solution Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy)
  • Experience working on a multidisciplinary team or within an integrative behavioral health model (nice to have).
  • Experience creating clinical programs and content related to mental health and well-being (nice to have).

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct brief mental health symptom screening to identify mental health concerns that may present as physical symptoms
  • Utilize evidence-based techniques to provide education and engagement on a variety of topics impacting mental health, mental well-being, and physical health, tailored to individual patient needs and cultural contexts.   
  • Utilize evidence based techniques to educate and engage patients in lifestyle changes for measurable health outcomes.
  • Identify mental health risk factors and assess the need for more comprehensive support and making appropriate referrals when necessary.
  • Provide trauma-informed care, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for all patients.
  • Offer general mental health consultations through our digital platform to patients in the U.S. and Mexico.
  • Create and/or follow up on electronic medical records, adhering to regulations in different U.S. states.
  • Conduct outreach via phone and SMS with patients proactively to ensure engagement or re-engagement in programs
  • Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary and cross functional team, to promote the best possible patient experience with MiSalud.
  • Continuously learn about the U.S. healthcare system and comply with relevant regulations in your work with patients.
  • Stay up-to-date on training for our technology and evolving mental health programs/protocols/clinical resources  within our dynamic startup environment
  • Must maintain average patient satisfaction ratings in line with MiSalud clinical team averages at 95%+ by delivering patient care with exemplary bedside manner and a focus on high-quality, outcome-driven care.
