We are seeking a highly motivated and empathetic Physician to join our virtual care team. This role is a contract, hourly position designed for licensed clinicians seeking to dedicate extra hours to providing high-quality, outcome-driven care via telehealth.

Job Overview

The US Physician will be a core member of our clinical team, responsible for delivering culturally attuned, evidence-based primary and general medicine care to our members via our integrated telehealth platform. This role involves serving as a primary care resource, collaborating closely with an integrated care team, and maintaining clinical excellence and efficiency within a fast-paced, innovative digital health environment.

You will play a pivotal role in ensuring our members receive timely access to quality healthcare, regardless of language, income, or location. The ideal candidate blends exceptional clinical judgment with deep cultural competence and a proactive approach to team collaboration and technological adaptation.

Your Impact

  • Provide Culturally Attuned Clinical Care: Offer comprehensive virtual care, conducting assessments, diagnosing conditions, and providing appropriate clinical guidance and treatment plans via phone, video call, and chat in both Spanish and English.
  • Drive Patient Outcomes & Satisfaction: Maintain an exemplary bedside manner and a strong focus on high-quality, outcome-driven care, meeting or exceeding the MiSalud clinical team average patient satisfaction rating of 97%+.
  • Integrated Care Collaboration: Collaborate proactively and closely with our multi-disciplinary care team, including Latin American Health Coaches who do initial intake, health education and lifestyle coaching, and our dedicated Mental Health team.
  • Clinical Guidance & Education: Proactively communicate with the patient engagement team to optimize appointment attendance and ensure seamless coordination of care for a population that is sometimes difficult to reach.
  • Adaptation & Innovation: Lead with an efficient and adaptable mindset as our technology, programs, and protocols evolve rapidly. You will be expected to embrace continuous training and growth without sacrificing quality or ethical standards.
  • Champion Health Equity: Apply empathy and perspective when working with patients who may be facing significant socioeconomic challenges (e.g., shelter, food security), dedicating the necessary time to build trust and provide comprehensive health guidance.

Qualifications:

  • Education & Licensure: Active licensure as a MD or DO, holding board certification (ABMS or AOA recognized).
  • Required: Active, unrestricted medical license in California (CA).
  • Highly Desired: Additional active licensure in AZ, CO, FL, IL, KY, MD, NJ, NY, OH, OR, RI, TN, TX, or WA.
  • Clinical Experience: Minimum of 3+ years of clinical experience in general medicine or primary care.
  • Language Proficiency: C1-level Spanish proficiency is required to offer seamless, bilingual patient consultations in both Spanish and English.
  • Digital Health Acumen: Experience utilizing telehealth platforms, AI tools for clinicians, and digital tools for remote team collaboration (e.g., Slack).
  • Mindset: Proactive, highly communicative, problem-solving team player dedicated to improving Latinx health and operating effectively in a remote environment.
  • Bonus Points for: Experience in public health and/or addressing population health disparities.
